Daniel Atkinson has some 45 years experience in construction. For 18 years Daniel Atkinson practised successfully as a
chartered civil engineer in design, procurement and construction of major projects as diverse as roads, tunnels, bridges, marine works, ports, buildings and
different types of plants, both internationally and in UK. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil
Engineers and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.
Daniel Atkinson is Executive Director of Daniel Atkinson Limited.
He has experience in settling disputes on a wide range of international projects in mediation, adjudication
and arbitration.
Daniel Atkinson is an Adjudicator, a Mediator, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has a Diploma in International Arbitration having won the Cedric Barclay Prize. Daniel Atkinson is a Member of the Panel of Adjudicators of RICS, ICE, CIArb, IChemE and CIC and past Committee Chairman of ICE Conciliation & Adjudication Advisory Panel.
He is a lawyer, and writes regularly on law in construction journals and lectures on a wide range of legal and commercial issues. He is author of Section 4.1 of the Construction Law Handbook on Administration of Claims. He is author of "Causation in Construction Law - Principles and Methods of Analysis" and "Issues in Construction Law - Formation of Contract, Terms and Interpretation". Daniel Atkinson has lectured extensively on commercial matters.
